OUR STORY
PatriotVPN was founded by U.S. Air Force veteran John Tesdal, whose mission has always been simple: help people stay securely connected.
While stationed in Japan in the early 1990s, John saw firsthand how difficult and expensive it was for military members and their families to communicate with home. Internet access was limited, and secure connections were almost nonexistent.
After leaving the Air Force, he built one of the first internet services dedicated to helping military personnel get online affordably. That experience shaped his career and led him into decades of work in network security and infrastructure.
Over time, he watched privacy erode as companies increasingly tracked and monetized user data. When colleagues began asking for help securing their own connections, he built a VPN solution they could trust.
PatriotVPN grew from that foundation.
Today, PatriotVPN remains veteran-owned and operated, built on experience, trust, and a simple belief: your privacy belongs to you.
